No. The Academy serves future homeowners at many stages — building credit, managing debt, budgeting, saving, or simply learning the buying process.
Can I join if I already have good credit or a preapproval?
Yes. Many members are already preapproved and want help with budgeting, debt-to-income readiness, savings, and understanding what comes next.
Can the Academy help me understand budgeting and debt-to-income readiness?
Yes. You’ll learn how monthly obligations affect your financial position and identify practical priorities with personalized guidance.
Does every member start in the same place?
No. Your journey is personal. Guidance is based on your goals and where you are today, while you learn the foundations of homeownership.
Do I still need a realtor?
Yes. The Academy prepares you to work confidently with your realtor, who remains an essential part of your homebuying team.
Can I participate if I already have a realtor?
Absolutely. Members referred by an agent continue working with their existing agent, who handles their actual home tours.
Will my realtor or lender receive regular progress reports?
No. Mentorship is provided directly to you. Membership does not include routine progress reporting — you choose what to share with your homebuying team.
Will I receive a completion certificate?
Members who complete the Academy’s learning and participation requirements receive a Next Chapter Homebuyer Academy Certificate of Completion.
Does participation guarantee mortgage approval?
No. The Academy provides education and guidance. Financing decisions, approval amounts, and program eligibility are made by lenders and program providers.
